Why would someone want to go to school and earn an associate degree over a bachelor degree?

Korey asked:

I have a friend who is pretty wealthy and she just graduated from a two-year school which is legally able to award associate degrees. I asked her if she was going to further her education and earn a bachelor degree, but she said no.

Why is that? She said something about being in demand with only an associate degree. What does this mean? Does it mean that if she had a bachelor degree it would cost employers more to hire her?

Why would someone choose to only get an associate degree and not a bachelor degree? She has the time and money, just doesn’t want to.

What are the benefits of having an associate degree?

For it sounds as if your friend has other associate degrees that will serve you well all your friend has fairly wellpaying job she doesnt want to give up any more years of college especially if you take the end of her life to.

Some fields of employment just require an AS, & don’t require a BS or BA. An example would be a dental hygienist, practical nurse, electrician’s apprentice, Interior decorator, computer programmer, vet tech.

It’s important to be happy with what job you have… not how many degrees you have hanging on the wall.
