Studying sociology online (bachelor degree)? Good or Bad idea?

Monday, July 30th, 2007
cero asked:

The question is not about comparing the online system to the face to face teaching systems. But I would like to understand how important is for the study and research of sociology to be in a classroom with others and do some networking with your colleagues.

I have a bachelor in Business Administration, I believe that for that field of studies creating a good network really helps you because right after graduation you already have friends working in some companies and they can refer to you when doing job search.

But I feel (maybe I’m wrong) that to study sociology you can be behind your PC, reading like hell, exchanging ideas through these type of means (ie yahoo answers), in the library, etc. And all that at your own pace and in an Online course.

What do you say?

Looking for an online Bachelor’s degree in Web Design and Multi Media that is affordable?

Saturday, July 28th, 2007
ju_stephan asked:

I have checked out The Art Institute’s online program. $82,500. That is outragious. Also checked out Westwood College and AIU. Prices are not as bad but I am not sure if they are considered credible. Has anyone graduated from an online college with a Bachelor’s degree and now working? Even if you are not working I would like to hear how your experience was.
Thanks!

What do colleges think about high school students taking online college classes?

Thursday, July 26th, 2007
Joey asked:

I live in North Carolina. I’ve taken several online courses through UNCG, which is part of the UNC chain so the can credits transfer to any of the 17 schools in the system. Would colleges like this or no? The classes I’ve taken are US history 101 and 202, anthropology, psychology, and sociology.

Will my Master’s Degree (earned online) be “worthy”?

Monday, July 23rd, 2007
pageghtf asked:

I am working online through an accredited universitry (Drexel, in Penn.) to earn my Master’s Degree. I want to be sure that when I have completed my course work, that my degree is equivalent to a Master’s Degree not earned online. In other words, I don’t want to have “online” stamped across my diploma or transcripts. How can I be sure?
