Whether you decide to go to an online school is up to you. I just want to clear up the confusion on accreditation.

Online is a delivery method. Accreditation is a review process.

Regardless of delivery method (on ground, online, hybrid), a higher ed institution in the US can have 3 institutional accreditation statuses.

1. Regionally accredited - the highest and most useful. (Everyone from Stanford to University of Phoenix are regionally accredited)
2. Nationally accredited - real, but not as recognized or useful. Yes it is less than regional accreditation, which isn't intuitive.
3. Unaccredited

Be sure to check here before you enroll:

Artemis' is right about acreditation. Ask about it before getting too deep. If you can fight your way into a real university somehow and then survive it, your sheepskin will be printed on heavier paper.

There are plenty of online programs that are very good. However, some of the better ones do have gpa requirements. Just make sure that the school you're interested in is acredited. Usually online colleges that are universities are the better way to go, not that the other are not, ie. University of ... They're also tend to be more expensive as well.
